Our Story...
Searching for a sound between the soundwaves, Perceptual Present is music for tomorrow and today. Kick-ass rock is a most fitting label for their uniquely original, highly energized, versatile, and eclectically varying styles. They could possibly be classified as progressive indie art rock - drawing comparisons to artists ranging from Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem to Pink Floyd and Yes to Primus, Thundercat, and The Mars Volta. They're sometimes jazzy, often funky, usually dancy, and always entirely engaging and enormously entertaining.
Perceptual Present was formed by father-son duo David and Matthew Miersch around 2018. After years of playing and performing jazz together, they eventually felt compelled to branch out to composing and developing their own sound. Now an emerging gem in the Denver/Colorado music scene, they currently perform their music around the area as either a 3,4, or 5 piece ensemble.

Based out of Bailey and Denver, Colorado, our music spans a wide range of genres - rock, indie, funk, alternative, pop, blues, jazz, latin jazz, dance, electronic, hip-hop, "other" - while attempting to establish an entirely new and unique sound and style. We are passionate about our creations - music that keeps us alert and alive.
